The check, redrawn
Bernadotte & Kylberg took the Blue Check, Hästens' best-known signature since 1978, and redrew it as a cubist pattern. Hästens developed a double-layered cotton fabric of its own for it.
The name comes from the Appaloosa, a North American horse breed with a distinctive spotted coat. The bed is accompanied by a bedside table and a bed bench with ash intarsia, inspired by the check.
A 2000T on the inside
Hästens writes, in so many words, that it has wrapped the technology of the 2000T in this fabric, and the comparison table confirms it: the same three spring systems, the same number of springs, the same frame of slow-grown pine and the same flax felt around the springs.
Anyone torn between a classic 2000T and an Appaloosa is therefore not deciding how they will sleep, but how their bedroom will look. That is a perfectly good question to take your time over: you will be looking at it for decades.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Appaloosa and the 2000T?
The fabric and the design. According to Hästens' own comparison table, the interior, the height and the number of springs are the same. With both you can have a personalised name plate engraved.
Can I sleep-test the Appaloosa at SleepSpa?
Not as an Appaloosa, but its interior, yes: the 2000T stands in one of our suites. The fabric and the furniture you can see at the dealer.
