How it is built

The bed holds two spring systems: individually encased 13-centimetre pocket springs, and beneath them Bonnell springs of heat-treated steel. According to Hästens, all the springs are heat-treated so that they hold their firmness for a long time.

Around them lie cotton, wool and horsehair, on a frame of slow-grown northern Swedish pine. The cotton fabric closest to your body is applied by hand.

Who it is for

The Excel is the practical bed of the collection. It is light enough to move house with, and the legs are height-adjustable and set slightly inwards, so you don't walk into them at night.

That makes it a natural choice for a child's room that grows with the child, a guest room or a holiday home: anywhere you want a Hästens without the weight and height of a two-part bed.
