What a royal purveyor is

The Swedish court describes the title as an honorary award: proof that a company's products or services are appreciated by members of the Royal Family. The King appoints, and a company only qualifies after several years of supplying the court.

It is a limited circle: companies from all kinds of sectors, who have to keep earning the title. A company can lose it again.

Since 1952

Hästens became a royal purveyor in 1952, exactly a hundred years after it was founded as a saddlery. It has kept the title since, under the present King too.

What it does and doesn't say

It does say that the court has kept buying from Hästens over a long period, and that the company passes the court's test — deliveries, financial health, continuity.

It doesn't say that a Hästens scores better than another bed in an independent test, or that it suits you. That is decided by your own night, not a royal one.

Frequently asked questions

Is Hästens still a royal purveyor?

Yes. Hästens is named in Swedish reporting among the current purveyors to the court, a title the company has held since 1952.

Does the Swedish King sleep on a Hästens?

The royal warrant means the court buys products from Hästens. Which beds are where, the court doesn't disclose, so we don't claim it either.
