Can I dismantle a Hästens myself?
You can, but the bed is heavy and the parts are vulnerable along the edges. Damage from incorrect dismantling is at your own expense. Preferably have the dealer or a specialist do it.
A Hästens can be dismantled and moved, but it is heavy, its edges are vulnerable and the natural filling does not tolerate moisture. Preferably have the dealer or an experienced firm dismantle and transport it, measure the route in the new home beforehand, and never store the bed in a damp unit or garage. After the move, the care schedule simply carries on.
Measure the route in the new home just as for the first delivery: stairwell, turn on the landing, doors, lift. The bed comes in parts, but those parts are large and rigid.
Find the model number, size and receipt and keep them to hand. Call your dealer to ask who dismantles and reassembles it, and what that costs. If you do it yourself or use an ordinary removal firm, damage from incorrect dismantling is at your own expense — and edges and fabric are the easiest to damage.
Plastic is fine for moving day itself, against rain and dirt. But take it off the same day: in plastic, moisture has nowhere to go, and natural filling left in its own moisture for days won't get rid of it.
If the bed has to be stored for a while, choose a dry, heated space. Not an unheated garage, cellar or shipping container, not directly on the floor, and not wrapped in film. A breathable cotton cover protects against dust without trapping moisture.
Hästens has dealers in many countries, which makes moving abroad easier than with most brands: care and parts are generally available there too. Ask beforehand whether the warranty is handled in the new country, and through whom.
Mind the size. Bed sizes differ by country, and bedding in your new country won't always fit a European size. Take your fitted sheets with you or order them in your size.
Have the bed reassembled level, check in raking light that everything lies flat, and air the room well for the first few days. If the bed has been in storage, give it a few days before judging how it feels.
And pick up the care schedule where you left off. A move is a natural moment to turn and rotate the bed straight away.

For transport on the day itself, yes; for storage, no. In plastic, the moisture natural filling gives off has nowhere to go. For storage, use a breathable cover and a dry, heated space.
That is in your warranty document and depends on the situation. Ask your dealer before the move, and also ask which dealer in the new country would handle any claim.
